After Labour’s string of anti–semitism storms, why do so many of the hard left have a problem with Jews?

The Sun looks at Anti–Semitism in the Labour Party, drawing on Paul Bickley’s work.

 

Labour has been hit with a flurry of anti–semitism claims since Jeremy Corbyn became leader – taking in activists, councillors and even MPs.

Ancient stereotypes of powerful Jews running banks and the media still influence some extreme left–wingers.

Anti–semitism has often been based on the idea that Jewish people have gained some sort undeserved power over society.

Paul Bickley, of the think–tank Theos, wrote last year that many leftists based their hatred of Jews on the views of Karl Marx, who spread “the old anti–semitic trope which identifies Jewishness with money–making”.
