Speaking with Premier, Paul Bickley from the Christian think-tank Theos said that while the results could mean different things, it demonstrates for the most part what the nation thinks about leadership.
He said: "Some people might think it's important for the Prime Minister to be a Christian in the sense of caring for the poor. Others might have a different take in the sense of holding a particular view about life issues.
"People do not just want a set of policies that they can agree with - they want a person that they can support."
