I’ll be reading Looking Through the Cross by the Rev Dr Graham Tomlin, because of both the subject matter and the author. The meaning of the Cross, trite as it sounds, slides in and out of focus in Christian life (or at least my Christian life) and so a period of sustained focus and thought on this most central mystery can only be a good thing. I’ve enjoyed Tomlin’s work previously, and tune in regularly to his GodPod podcast for accessible, thoughtful, often entertaining theological reflection alongside another of my heroes, Jane Williams.
