Everyone knows the narrative – the church in the UK is in decline. But like many things a simple story hides a more complicated picture. We are joined by two of the country's foremost experts on the UK religious landscape, Linda Woodhead, Professor in Sociology and Religion at Lancaster University, and David Goodhew, author of ‘Church Growth in Britain’ and Director of the Centre for Church Growth Research at Cranmer Hall, St Johns College, Durham University.

They will be discussing some of the reasons behind recent changes in the religious make-up of England, as well as flagging developments in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Linda brings particular expertise on religious decline and the Church of England, while David will focus on growth and other denominational affiliations. Both will offer theories and suggestions about where the church might, and should, be heading in 21st-century society.

Time: 6.30pm for 7pm start at Theos, 77 Great Peter Street, London.
