How good we could be: Morality, economics and the future of Britain
Theos Annual Lecture 2014
We are delighted to announce that this year’s lecture will be delivered by Will Hutton, Principal of Hertford College, University of Oxford, and Chair of the Big Innovation Centre. Will Hutton is a leading political economist, journalist and author of a number of influential books on contemporary public life, including The State We’re In and Them and Us: Changing Britain – Why We Need a Fair Society. The lecture will explore the need to re-embed our economic life within a serious moral framework. It also coincides with the publication of Theos’ latest report, Just Money: How Catholic Social Teaching can Redeem Capitalism, written by respected commentator and author Clifford Longley.
Will Hutton will be joined by Jon Cruddas MP and David Willetts MP, who will be offering responses to the lecture and engaging with him in discussion. The evening will be chaired by Sarah Montague from the BBC Radio 4 flagship current affairs programme, Today.
Attendance is by invitation only. For media enquiries contact press@theosthinktank.co.uk. For all other enquiries email events@theosthinktank.co.uk.
