Theos @ the Oxford Union

Director of Theos, Paul Woolley, spoke at the Oxford Union last night on the motion 'This House believes that politicians shouldn't do God.'

Paul joined Paul Murphy MP, Tim Stevens, Bishop of Leicester, Stephen Timms MP, and Matthew Parris in opposing the motion. Lord McNally, Lord McIntosh and Baroness Flather were amongst those proposing the motion.

In a lively debate lasting 3 hours, speakers discussed issues ranging from theocracy, the idea of secular neutrality, war and tolerance. The motion was passed by the Union by about 40 votes.
